Tool braze-welding is a special type of welding where the workpieces are joined together using a different type of filler material from the two basic materials. The filler material is a special alloy which has a lower melting temperature than the base material. The alloy used by Noramec is the result of over 40 years of experience in this sector.
During the welding process the alloy reaches the melting point and spreads over the entire surface of the section to be joined. The alloy solidifies and "anchors" itself to the Base material as well as the Weld Overlay guaranteeing a 100% seal between the two metals.
In the tool department Noramec has several traditional grinding machines, including 2 lathes and 6 milling cutters. Noramec also has 2 induction welding machines, 6 sharpening machines, 3 tangential grinding machines, 3 radial grinding machines with centres, 1 centreless grinding machine and 1 automatic grinding machine working on 2 axes.
